In an inspiring testament to the power of resilience and compassion, Alexander G.M.C. Hice, affectionately known as “God’s Miracle Child,” founded Everybody Needs a Friend CDC (EBNAF) — a beacon of hope dedicated to changing how communities connect and care for one another. As a Vietnam Disabled Veteran, Hice’s journey has been marked by incredible courage and determination, overcoming life-threatening challenges with unwavering faith and purpose. Following a transformative liver transplant, he emerged with a profound calling: to ensure no one in his community feels alone or forgotten.
As the founder of Everybody Needs a Friend CDC (EBNAF), Alexander brings a deeply personal mission to life. After experiencing the healthcare system firsthand, he came to understand the profound impact that companionship can have during times of isolation.
While on the transplant waiting list, Alexander missed the first two calls for a donor match. It was only on the third attempt, a call he received at 7:30 PM on Thanksgiving night, that he answered. That moment changed everything. Had he missed that final call, he might not be here today. Now, with a renewed lease on life, he is dedicated to helping others feel seen, valued, and supported.
Through EBNAF, Alexander fills these emotional voids with simple, heartfelt gestures — a phone call, a home visit, a shared meal, or attending a church service together. Each act radiates kindness and reminds others that no one has to walk through life alone.
At Everybody Needs A Friend CDC, we believe that everyone deserves a friend to lean on. Reach out today and join us in making a difference. Together, we can create a brighter, more compassionate future for those in need. Your kindness can change lives.
